100 New Acquisitions

Nov. 18, 2009 - Nov. 8, 2010

Over the years the museum has presented one of world’s most comprehensive collections of jewelry in our exhibitions using innovative display techniques to explore the interconnectedness of cultures and our shared human identity. A reinstallation showcasing 100 new acquisitions from the permanent collection of the World Jewellery Museum opened to the public on November 18, 2009. “The collection reflects the diversity of the audience as well as our vision for the future of WJM,” said Director Lee Kang-won. These recent acquisitions share gallery space with some of the “old favorites” from the museum’s overall permanent collection of over 5000 works. The World Jewellery Museum is continually expanding the selection to include a larger representation of the museum’s core holdings as well as selected recent acquisitions.
